Basic Gun Dog Training

Our Basic gun dog program focuses on building a solid foundation for your retriever. The basics cover: Basic obedience, collar conditioning, force fetch, introduction to gunfire, introduction to water, retrieving through various cover and water situations, as well as, reliably delivering to hand, introduction to decoys, boats, blinds and everything else your gundog may encounter in the field. A minimun of four months is required to complete this training.

Hunt Test Training

UKC and AKC sanctioned hunt tests are a great way to prove your retrievers capabilities. Throughout the year we will run a series of these tests typically in the spring and fall months. There are various levels in which we compete in, including; Started (UKC) Junior (AKC) Seasoned (UKC) Senior (AKC) Finished (UKC) Master (AKC). Passes acquired in each stake count towards a title that will remain on your dogs pedigree forever.

Advanced Gun Dog Training

Our Advanced Gundog program focuses on building a finished retriever catering to those who want the very best in the field. Whether you hunt from a boat, blind, flooded timber or anywhere inbetween, this program will ensure your retriever is prepared for every scenario they may see. This program picks up where our Basic Program leaves off and then includes teaching: multiple marked retrieves, blind retrieves (directing your retriever to unseen fowl via the use of whistles and hand signals), and honoring another working dog. A minimum of 8 months is required for this program.

Puppy Head Start

A puppy’s brain goes through exponential growth during the first few months of its life. This is why we offer puppy training beginning at the age of 16 weeks. Dogs that have completed our puppy head start program have proven to be more trainable and competent retrievers in the future. This program is on a month by month basis and is only available to those committed to either basic or advanced gun dog training. Limited spots available.

Our goal is to bring the absolute best out of every dog that comes through our doors. Whether it’s a serious hunt test competitor, weekend gun dog, or everyday family pet. We custom tailor our program based on each dog and their individual needs.
We believe that for a dog to perform at its best they must be provided a clean and comfortable environment. Our 16 run indoor climate controlled facility is cleaned and sanitized daily. Each dog has their own 4x5 welded wire kennel with an orthopedic Kuranda bed. Along with being out for training, we air (let out) our dogs at a minimum 4 times a day.

How often can I visit my dog?

For basic gun dog, we like to get the dog through the steps of basic obedience, collar conditioning and force fetch before having the owners out to visit. Once the dog is through these steps you will be invited to training days (weather and schedule dependent)

Am I required to attend training days?

No, while it is encouraged, it is not required.

What do I need to bring at drop off?

You will need to bring an up to date copy of your dogs rabies certificate, An up to date negative fecal exam and enough flea tick and heart worm prevention to last their stay. We provide everything else.

How often will I be updated on my dogs progress?

Each month you will be provided a detailed progress report attached to your invoice with an honest review of your dogs progression.

What should I be doing with my pup before it comes to training?
